39369, "Left & Right" featuring Q-Tip? Posted by Black N Proud, Sun Dec-17-06 03:32 PM
wasn't the first actual recorded version of this song with q-tip?
I know in the Voodoo booklet it says Q-Tip did the vocal percussion, but wasn't there a version without Red & Meth, and only with Q-Tip?

That's what the article ?uest wrote about it at the time seemed to suggest. Didn't it say that his verse was removed because it wasn't good enough?

Tip wasn't removed because his verse wasn't good enough, but because Meth & Red complimented the grimyness of the song. Apparantly the idea for the song was concocted by D and Tip, but D's then manager argued for the rappers to be more commercial. Meth & Red were hot at the time, so they went with them.
As far as I know, the Q Tip version is yet to leak. I would love to hear it tho!
Peace

Oh ok, yeah I thought I remembered hearing something like that before. I wish the version with Tip would get releasesd.
