ULTRADIEHARDS- do not have 4 joints. (6 if they itunes game is on point in the next 6 days)
nor do they have the liner notes.

and if they are completists this will be the first time they will have 6 additional joint mastered and CLEAN sounding.

DIEHARDS that just got the Roots Albums and not much more (and there are PLENTY of you)-there are 15 songs you have not heard. 17 if you STILL cant find orgnaix.

If you just joined us AFTER TFA-there are 25 joints you are NOT familiar with.

again.

im a prince fan to the bone.

i got his records
records of people he produced
people he wrote for
even the records of the people who were produced by the people he produced and wrote for.

i got most his concerts on dvd, vhs, and cd

every BOOT ever legal.

but i don't bitch about the shit when it finally sees the light of day.

the buying public are NOT reflective you you guys. they dont cop 12 inches. they can barely get organix let alone 200,000+ live album.

so yes die hards.

it is worth it.

why?

cause i worked hard on this as if it was a real album.

and that my friends should be all that you ask of me.

work hard.

that is my job.

So I gotta say Questo, Illadelph made me a roots fan for life, but I've never been able to cop any rare shit apart from the Clones/Sections promo....so this collection is gonna have so much shit on it that I been dying to hear. Don't think for a moment that okp's don't respect/appreciate all the shit that you do for your fanbase. You're our top drummer in this hip-hop game....*tears up*

much respect. I'll take 2!

honestly ?uest... your dedication to detail, especially liner notes,is one of the things that really makes me anticipate releases from y'all.I like to get a feel for the songs beyond what I hear and take in.

I need to have you write the liner notes for my album when its done... ha! ha! You can write them from a listeners perspective and how you envision what was going on,what was felt when the song was written recorded, etc.

Thank you for the time you invest and dedicate to the "packaging" of your art.

had to be one of the best shows i've ever been to ... and i woulda caught the drum stick ... but yea ... i had a broken ankle and torn ligaments = limited mobility

definitely copping both vols on the release day, both on vinyl and cd (my record store says they'll have the vinyl). i got all this shit on the boots (except the 4) , but the remastering and the fact that it's clean and legal, plus them long-ass liner notes makes this the bargain of the year. imma even hook up my fam with a couple copies for Christmas ($20 bux for two 72+ min cds of the legendary? it's the ultimate stocking stuffer!). anyways...

p.s. yo 15, hook up some vinyl reissues of them older joints! TFA, IH, DYWM, and Roots Come Alive!
34184, is iTunes going to have anything the CDs won't have?
Posted by B Side, Thu Nov-10-05 03:53 PM
i am playing on buying my copies next wednesday

i am an ultradiehard

am i going to be missing anything by getting the CDs instead of iTunes?
34185, Yes, label guy said...
Posted by onethree, Thu Nov-10-05 03:59 PM

34186, 2 tracks
Posted by Troubled Spirits, Thu Nov-10-05 04:01 PM
1) ?uestlove and Knuckles solo
2) The Pros (the intro they did to their show circa 2003 with 50's "In Da Club" beat)
34187, noooooice...
Posted by onethree, Thu Nov-10-05 04:07 PM
...are these live or studio mastered versions?
34188, woulda been 4 but.......(points to label with a shrug)
Posted by 15, Thu Nov-10-05 10:48 PM
the pros-done in our mock club/nightclub/studio/strip joint in the of our studio. i think same month as we made "i dont care" really jammy like--dont think we ever had real intentions to release this.

knuckles vs ?-a drum solo from our show in belgium

you woulda had "pfffat time" (from 1994 steve williamson's "journey to truth" album) and "montera" from the blue note remix comp of 1996.
34189, RE: woulda been 4 but.......(points to label with a shrug)

and thank you ?esto, and the rest of the crew. your releases and shows never dissapoint me.

You can get both Pffat Time and Montara (Roots Mix) on Acquisition. FYI.
34195, cutting room floor album??
Posted by Cerebrawler, Fri Nov-11-05 06:47 PM
a producer once said that only about 2% of work recorded ever gets released. What do you do with that material that hits the cutting room floor? Make a mixtape and listen on occasion or lock up for when you get to be old? How does a collector like yourself that knows cats are out there fiending for access to the vault...how do you mentally deal with all the music that you know should be out for public experience?

34196, we can't even buy them joints?
Posted by biscuit, Sat Nov-12-05 03:38 PM
sheesh.
34197, Don't worry ?uesto...

why can't we as fans just be grateful for another album from the G.O.A.T. regardless if we own all their albums. ?uest has put these 2 volumes together for us. I for one am thankful that their are groups out who put out good music for their fans and not for the MASSES!

Looking forward to the rareities and the LINER BOOKS!
