and even though that's my secret boo (i got love YN) she was on some i drew the shortest straw so i had to come and do this story)

so when asked how do you make a track she seemed bored by my long winded response.

me scott and mal made that joint in a record 10 minutes.
3054, of course, I have to ask this one

Is the reference obvious if I listen, or is there a story to tell?

i was trying to play james the chords to this new song D and i did the night before called "cherrianna" (d always made his women dummy titles)--but with my limited chord knowledge i played it wrong (friggin jay dee called me on the phone and did it note for note and d played it through the phone! genius ass!)---well since i was doing reel to reel--when you rewind to the beginning of the tape you can hear music backwards. and i heard enough to show me the light. so i made engineer reverse the reel direction and it was a whole new song. shit was hypnotic. quiet as its kept the intro is still my favorite joint off the record.

clean album enthusiasts will find that ursula's piece was replaced with a "things fall apart" piece by rich medina using that "root" piece in forward direction.

one for the ebayers.

kelo1

there is a beat on dice's debut (i cant recall title forgive me)--but if you have the album its a raw drum joint with a horn stab on the one and three. its dirty as fuck. big drums and no melody.

this was initial beat to respond/react. but since i was on that "breaking the law shit" i said "we must create the music" so i let them record beat and then i went in afterwards and redid all the music.

sprite commercial-

push up's music was the music we used for some radio sprite spots (member the 93 campaign with tribe?--they were gonna do a old to the new jawn with us and tribe, wu and some other cats but it fell through. we got the sprite commercial though and riq did a 60 second ad and a 30 second jawn and this was the music.

cosmic kev said it was better than anything on DYWM---

so we made it into a full jawn.

Now i'm gonna go see if I still have my copy of dice's album around somewhere. (Eh, I don't listen to it that much, something went horribly wrong with that album)

Those are my 2 favorite roos songs, but star is looking to take over one of those spots.

Thanks for the lists and thanks for TTP, another great album, thx.

the compression filter on the guitar "the everlast compression" cause its sounds so much like "what it's like"---so i always called it "the everlast jawn"
3073, Ah, right on...
Posted by CaptNish, Tue Jul-06-04 07:25 PM
I met Everlast at a show once and was blown away by how intimidating his presence is. And then he picked up his acoustic and dropped "What It's Like" and I was like "Okay... so this new Everlast disc isn't gonna sound anything like what I thought it was."

the album was called "back to wreck shop" and the first cut to freak james brown's "soul pride" was "she rides the pony"

Back 2 Wreck Shop

Still Dangerous.

"She Rides The Pony" can be found on 12" for like 25 cents anywhere.

I'm still trying to get my grubby effing paws on "Hittin Hardball", which is in my top 3 songs of all time, and all I got is a Kenny-K show dub of it from like '91-'92.
