with all the drama surrounding the likes of Paris Hilton's set these days i wonder, when one signs up for all the positives that come with being "celebrated" is it an unspoken thing to not recognize that the smallest negative or odd thing about you will become bathroom, water cooler, internet & magazine fodder?

are artists not coached or prepared for the onslaught that comes with becoming a public figure?

a lesson i learned recently is that whenever you put yourself out there to be praised & accept that praise - be it your work, your look, your art, you - you're also opening yourself up to critique and you have to be prepared and equally as accepting of it.

just some thoughts... but carry on Miss Badu. unashamedly, i think you're fantastic and respect what you do. :)
