1) I'm basing my comments on what I've read @ this site which strikes me as a lot of anti-black sentiment. 1 post literally said "I hate niggers". The fact that it seemed to be by a black person makes it even worse. The idea that black people now are calling other blacks "niggers" BASED on behavior they perceive to be negative, while presumably implying that they themselves aren't "niggers" is wrong to me.
2) I made a general statement regarding the behavior of SOME black men...if it wasn't clear before, I'm making it clear NOW.
3) The last census stated that of the approximately 250 thousand black/white mixed couples...something like 180K of them were black male/white female while the rest were white male/black female. This wouldn't include all the nonmarried couples where I would assume the breakdown is about the same. That ends up being about 4xs as much and that's not including those who didn't participate in the census. Now the # of interracial couples are RELATIVELY small but given the current problems that face black men (jail, death, unemployment, etc.) and the affect that's having on the single black male population (remember the CO's speech in Slam) those #s may seem like too high for single black women....feel me???
My information regarding the racial mix of black people in the US, the color caste system, and the politics surrounding it comes from reading the likes of Henry Louis Gates Jr, Bell Hooks, Franz Fanon, Ivan Van Sertima, John Henrik Clark along with others and just plain common sense. Its clear most of us didn't look how we do now when we were first dragged here...there was heavy racial mixing (forced or not) not just with whites but with Native Americans too (my fam is an example), you might want to check out the book Black Indians. Or u might want to read "Perceived Attractiveness and the African Self Conscious"..I think that was from the Journal of Black Psychology. Many respected black authors & historians have talked about the same issues I've mentioned...perhaps you'd like to check them out...and enlighten yourself, my brotha .
