When I made my first reply I didn't consider some of that. But yes, we as whites should be .very. thankful for what black culture has given us to enjoy in the form of hip hop. Saying that hip hop depends on our money is bullshit. Hip hop, like any other form of music, is an artform. It would thrive with or without your dollar or mine. These artists do what they do for art's sake alone. That's why I said in my post that the ad is simply an artistic expression!<P>And yes, it stands for what our culture did and still does to the black culture. We're all guilty as whites in some form. I'm not racist in any way, but I know there is more I could do in my community for understanding. Don't think 40 years in the past is enough to place racism and segregation, let alone slavery (wage slavery or servitude), out of our consciences.<P>I hope that made sense.
