but I've always considered "Untitled" a battle song with Prince! Face it gang, Prince hasn't been himself since Batman. I absolutely thought Prince was the shit until (and including) Sign of the Times, but his decline has been slow and steedy. I like'd a few songs in the 90's but he didn't drop one classic album in the past decade. This is just my opinion, but I'm sticking to it! <P>To me, Prince personified FUNK in the early 80's, but now his ish DO STINK. On the other had, D is FUNK personified NOW. To me, Untitled was a love song to FUNK. Prince has/had her, but she ain't happy with ass no more and D is trying to steal her. Maybe D stole her already and he's asking Prince "How does it feel?" seeing her with someone who is the funkiest brotha out now?<P>Look Players, Funk is like the Heavywieght Championship belt. I can trace it back to James Brown and his band. When Bootsie left James and joined George Clinton, George held the belt. Prince took it from George, but he lost it somewhere in the late 80's. The Red Hot Chili Peppers had it for a small while in the early 90's (with a little help from George, don't sleep!), but the title had been vacant until D took it over with Brown Sugar. IF I hated prince and wanted to flame him I could just go to prince.org and get somebody who is the king at that. For me to go to his website every week and check out the news updates...is proving I am a fan. But where Prince is failing is exactly what I was pointing out "the miscommunicating with the fans". The reason I said undisputed is because he mentions quest and d'angelo in a shout out but now it says on the update he is changing it a bit. good thing we have quest to set things straight. i understand prince's relationship with d'angelo and brother question now. it seems that prince was inspired by their work on the voodoo album, and in return quest and d were pleased that someone who they looked up to for many of years recognized their talent. <P>there can't be any beef between them. then again you never know with prince. but i love the fact that two of my biggest inspirations (prince and questlove) are seeing eye to eye. that gives me hope that my dream of being on npg records can come true.<P>-naeem j.

Rock: I could never take the place of your man, Let's go Crazy, Electric Chair. Dance: Sexy MF, Gett Off, Private Joy, U got the Look. Funk: Anotherloverholeinyohead, The Ballad of Dorothy Parker, The Ride, Zannalee. Until D could do that I don't think you can compare him to Prince. He is a very good artist though. I enjoy both Brown Sugar and Voodoo. But ask yourself is either one of those albums better than Parade, Sign O' the Times, Emancipation disk 2, or the Gold Experience. It's all good though.
