...mmkay... someone said somethin' like eminem's doin' nothin' that hasn't been done before in rap and he's just copying off black artists before him...
...but really... how much innovation is there in the art of emceeing at the present? i'm really wondering what people think is "ground-breaking" or "new-isht" as far as lyricism goes... 'cause i'm really just seeing year after year of shit-talkers just like every other year... black thought, even common to a degree... i mean, even the undergrounds celebrated acts are falling back on the whole "how i'll rip you"-steez, y'know? ... i dunno... so it seems rather silly to be like "eminem's not doin' anythin' original" when very few are doing something original anyways...

(...and yeah... i recognize and appreciate the innovation from "abstract" or "avant-garde" hiphop... sole, anticon, kool keith, sir menelik... whatever... but even then, a lot of it tends toward shit-talkin'...)
