The director of the video was Brian Meehan for Lock Down Entertainment. Common's mgr. introduced these cats to me who are known in the skater world by putting out the "Skateboarding" compilation videos under the Progression Magazine banner. Brian & crew really put their all in making this video. That one skater kid that did the "360 flip" off the 3 flights of stairs is the top guerilla street skater doin it. It was a 2 day shoot and the scenes at the Santa Monica pier were shot guerilla style and we even bribed the ferris wheel operator and hijacked the ride. By the time the police chased us off we had all the shots. Big up to Common, his mgr., & the director & crew for pulling this off. This internet-only joint is definitely an innovative move but what else would you expect? By the way, I have seen the suggestions about selling the "Heat" video on an enhanced Cd single for "the Light" but we need "The Light" to initially continue selling LWFC albums before we put a sinlge out so stay tuned.
We just wrapped the shoot for "The Light" on 121st St Uptown and it is going to look awesome.
