Is very ingrained in American culture. I mean, the amount of stuff we know about stars is amazing. Why? Because we want to look at other people's lives and pass judgement. So we don't feel bad about ourselves. Also, we like to think of stars as not as untouchable as they really are. Like they were people we know and could talk about like that. It's part of the price of stardom, your dirty drawerz and sheets are out there. And you won't get them back.
