i used to skateboard. and those videos and people is what introdued me to the roots, digable planets, souls of mischief, etc. i think there is two sides to skateboarding, one side can be found in the urban areas. at least half the guys i skated with were black, and they always thought skateboarding was part of hip hop culture. skateboarding was combined with other hip hop elements like graffiti. the sport is really not that active, its mostly just hanging out in the city, something to do while doing other shit.
