what is this magic fan base that you're talking about? if com's last album sold about 100,000 and this new one sells almost 500,000, don't you realize that the difference is in marketing? What, you think Com picked up 400,000 fans since "One Day..."? Get real...if he couldn't break 100,000 with Lauryn Hill on the record, that's because it was poorly marketed. Now he's with a team that's doing it right. Com's core fan base, that means the people who HUNT for new Com Sense material and iwll buy on his good name alone, may be as small as 50,000. There's another 50,000 that will cop it after they hear a hot song. But really, the fact that Com is about to go gold is due to the big marketing dollars over at MCA. If it was as simple as "Com's fanbase", Resurrection would have been gold by now, because that's his most revered album, ya dig?
