just read it in Billboard...it is NOT an actual permanent group, but a temporary group based on characters in the Spike Lee film "bamboozled". The group is called the Mau Maus and contains Mos Def, Charli Baltimore, Canibus, MC Serch (in a group called Mau Maus???????), DJ Scratch, and some lesser known cats (Mums and this other guy).

"blak is blak", the Mau Maus' only song to date, will be the first (noncommercial) single from the "bamboozled" soundtrack.

so, it's not like they are coming out with a record together or anything....this is just for the film...

(unless the single blows up, I guess, then maybe they will make more songs together)
