so, what other songs fit into the "cliche" of "geto heaven 2" in hip-hop? I didn't realize "geto heaven" was following the conventions of some hip-hop subgenre. enlighten me, please.

i like "geto heaven", felt common's performance was heartfelt, thought D's vocals fit the mood of the track perfectly, and just generally liked the joint.

and i don't find anything terribly wrong with macy gray's voice. she sounds like tina turner to me. you guys hate tina turner's voice too?

macy gray is alright to me. no idea where all the strong animosity is coming from...does she not hit notes properly or something technical like that? or is it totally subjective?

(of course, a lot of music criticism is subjective, including my own)
