well i had the honor of listening to the cd on a road trip to and back from black lilly in philly this past tuesday(rode from jersey city). i have to say that i LOVE the album in its entirety. however, if i had to choose, i definitely have to say that "1 is the magic #" is my favorite cut. i HAD to hit the repeat button--and not only was it not my cd, but i was catching a ride with someone that i barely knew. i just took control of his ish. the first line just snatches you..."if i multiply 2x2, is it really, really 4 me? *ladada ladada* and if i add 5 to get 9 minus 8 that just leaves me *ladada ladada*..." THAT IS MY ISH!!! i can only pray i get to hear her sing that live. my GAWD!!!

everything i expect from an artists and then some.

Her voice is milk and honey. I'm still mad she's got a fiance. Where are women like Jill where I live? Life ain't fair man, it just ain't.

I Think It's Better or Slowly Surely. I just want to eat caramel all day and listen to her CD.

..yep... as much as i love the music and lyrics of this cd, (especially the love rain remix w/mos and long walk!) i have to give it up to "i think its better." the song has all the ingredients of a classic: simple, short, bitter-sweet, but full of imagination. (i actually laughed the first time i heard it!) its poetic and leaves you hungry for more. (kind of takes me back to "where is your love" --guy, when they were still rockin' it!)

Fire, I have to agree with you on that one. I mean, the entire album is good, but when I first listened to it, if there was one song that was "magical" (not trying to be funny. No, seriously!) it was "One Is The Magic #". It has a great beat and it's just a great song. I would have to say it's prolly my fav. song on the album.

Slowly Surely-This was the first song I heard, it reminded me of some older shhh. I was feelin' it right away.She just flows.

Love Rain- and the mos def mix- I like the fact that she kept the same beat and had the spoken word over it.

A Long Walk- She just flows over this soooo smoove.I feel she knows how I feel some times through out the whole album. If we can chill and bump the roots she gets even more props.

So this would be my top three.

I think Brotha is real tight.Great positive vibe.
