Take heart. thought smokes, yes indeed, but that shouldn't influence you to do so.

I feel your pain as a young fan. The more you learn about the practicioners of this culture, the more cats you put on a pedestal start looking, well, like ordinary folks (which they are, anyway).

I don't think anyone has seriously repsonded to your concerns (except for maybe Quest). All I'd say to you is, stay on your path.

I'm an emcee and I don't smoke. I gotta admit, I'm always happy to find fellow cats that also don't smoke, but a lot of my Amphibian brethren indulge (or have indulged) in the smoke. You just have to do what you feel is right, regardless of where the majority goes.

My a-alike in Amphibians is a drinker and a smoker and has 4 kids. Lifestyle-wise, we are total opposites, but goddamn if we don't mix like kool-aid, water and sugar in that vocal booth.
