17621, Does Angiee count?
Posted by rick, Mon Apr-09-01 07:37 AM
as an okayartist? She's not part of the artists page, but I think I'm safe posting questions about her here.

Anyway, my question is not about Angiee directly, but does anyone know the best way to buy her book (for her, financially). I know you can have links to material at Amazon, and if you buy it through the link, you get a small piece of the sale. Will we be able to buy it from the okaystore directly, cutting amazon out of the loop altogether?
17622, Preorder it now!

I asked the same questions months ago, she said the best thing to do would be to pre-order it from Amazon (Go do it now!) and if it gets alot of pre-orders it helps create a buzz around her book and will help her out more.

you can order "the Broke Diaries" from most bookstores if they don't have it in stock -- the turnaround is usually a 2-3 days.

>as an okayartist? She's not

>posting questions about her here.

It's safe for you, me, it gives me the jitters 'cause I work here and don't have the luxury of saying "A post made me mad...I'm not looking at okayplayer for two weeks!"

> Will
>we be able to buy
>it from the okaystore directly,
>cutting amazon out of the
>loop altogether?

I'd wanted to do that, but with all the stuff due for the book and all the okayplayer work, I just couldn't get around to ordering a bunch in bulk. Plus, I'd have had to pay for them, and well, I'm in the process of moving...and the book is 9.95 and most authors can't live off their advances and their books sell for $20 and I have this $9.95 paperback so figure out how much I got. :-) Not enough to buy my book in bulk.

Maybe ?uest or someone will suprise me and say they ordered a hundred to sell on the site.

Everyone is still asking "When's the release party?" The release date is so anti-climactic. I'll be home tonight, doing an update.

Oh, but do check May Essence book reviews and page 79 of Entertainment Weekly (on stands now). Survivor stuff on the cover. :-)

It will be in all major bookstores. So, eff Amazon if you don't like 'em. If your local indy bookstore doesn't have it, have them order it.

Thanks for asking...

This still feel really weird.

did anyone else feel a twinge of joy when their first post hit double digit replies or when someone with an OK symbol posted? I've got the 10 replies before, but only because a bunch of people made fun of me, but this is my first angieee reply. WOOHOO!

On another random tangent that has nothing to do with this post, did anybody see the Simpson's last night? I thought it was the first great one in a long time.
