A few years back (the fugee days)when I saw Wyclef chewing the same thing, I asked the same question. It's actually.....wood. I tell you, I started to chew on that shit and it became addictive. It's not just wood, you take the bark off of it and boil it with different flavored leaves or syrup (peppermint, strawberry, etc.)Deep ish ya'll!!

you can purchase em at most health related stores.
or if your are in an inner city at most oil stands (where ansar brothers sell incense and body oils) you can get em there (that's how i get mine)

the purpose? breath freshener, helps in digestion of food, cleans teeth....looks cool.

just as us westerners look at chew sticks with "wha?" wonder, most cats from far east look at us using chemicals to clean ourselves (deodorant, toothpaste,...) with dismay. so in the far east it is quite common to see these instruments of cleaning.

Its A chewing stick. I chew them all the time. I get various flavors; vanilla, grape, strawberry, peppermint. I was one of the only people in town to chew them, but now I see that others are getting into the vibe now. So that what it is. PEACE!!!

I picked up some regular flavor licorice root at this health store...now do I have to boil it? Or can I just chew it? Thanks...
