When Aretha Franklin sang RESPECT, no one asked her to show dog bites on her feet and fire hose rippings on her back. She was speaking on the times of her ppl. The Blk artist speaks on behalf of the conditions. The Police (system) doesn't give a got damn about a nigga wit money. I think her (Badu's) credibility (in this case) is the fact that she uses her music as a tool of truth and not propaganda. I've never been personally attacked by the po, but have had disputes with em'-I still say Fuck em-cause I know what they do to my folk and wd and probably will do ta me.
