It is simply a statement about what went on today at the press conference. Today Trump was candid (this is going to be a very painful two weeks) and somber (it's a matter of life and death).
How am I being conned? I watched the press conference. That is what happened.
I also watched the other press conferences. He usually is not candid and somber.
And his next appearance may very well go back to his old ways. But none of that changes the description of today's press conference
