I discounted the shit Bronson said on SportsNation... I didn't take it as him "going at" Ghost, but... rap niggas is sensitive and here we are

It is..

When we were on tour with Redman some years back we would hit parts of the country (Ft. Collins, Co) where this just was a thing...

They wanted to jump on stage.. get suplexed off stage... the whole crowd would cheer and then 2 min later someone would do it again...

191068, yes it is a "thing" unfortunately
Posted by J_Sun, Mon Jul-20-15 12:21 PM
last AB show I went to, two dudes that were right next to me got on stage to get beaten and thrown off and couldn't have been happier about it. It's dumb as FUCK.

Again arguing right and wrong is for a certain landscape. If you understood this concept we would not be having this discussion as you are trying to create some alternate reality wishing Ghost would do something different than what he was going to do.

Which is even more perplexing when Joe Buddens just did some similar shit. You have a working example that you refuse to learn from even if you did not grow up in that environment.

up until the SportsNation incident. He used to tell reporters that dude had the same voice tone and that God gave him the same type of voice, he never disparaged dude and called him a Ghost clone, even though he clearly was.

If you want a more apt, comfortabe analogy, Shyne never talked out of pocket when people said he sounded like biggie, Rick Ross either, Magoo never said it when they said his wack ass sounded like Q-Tip. Action Bronson was wrong, and came off looking like more of a bum than he physically looks like.

I'm sure he's so tired of hearing the comparison to Ghost and he can't help how his voice sounds, but you can't pay respect and turn around and throw shade seconds later. He was probably too fucking high and feeling himself a little too much. He doesn't want this battle on the mic or in the streets tho.

Ghost dry snitched on himself and police are on his ass if anything happens to Bronson. This was a tutorial on dry snitching.

LOL, the Wu have said similar things about other artists so what's Ghost bitching about?

Don't let this turn into another Joe Budden/Raekwon situation where Ghost winds up not catching the fade/bar fest and has to back down like Wu did with Slaughterhouse when the odds evened up...

Ghost is a legend but AB is just getting started. If roles were reversed Ghost would say the same thing as AB.

Basically, Joe Budden said something about the Wu or Meth not belonging on a Vibe list. Raekwon confronted Joe Budden backstage about this on some tough Toney shit with six people behind him (c) Joe Budden. Joe Budden talked shit, Raekwon's bodyguard punched Joe, and then the situation went bad as security intervened. Slaughterhouse performed the same night. Joe had to chill at that moment because really going in could've cost Slaughterhouse a spot on the tour.

Royce even confronted Raekwon and his crew over this situation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8symiQKLMA

Video right after the punch:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVp91796O74

Mickey Factz live unbiased account of the Joe/Rae situation:

Joe Challenged Raekwon to a fade on camera and talks about Rae backing down:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGsCYYMq9mk

Beef got squashed after Meth and Joe talked about things.

191159, yeah that's the part i'm asking about...
Posted by gumz, Mon Jul-20-15 02:27 PM
i knew about the original altercation but what is this about Wu backing down? Slaughterhouse would have to be like 50 deep for it to be even...Wu rolls deep as fuck
191160, Peep the first video and third video...
Posted by Kira, Mon Jul-20-15 02:27 PM
Notice Rae didn't want that drama once things got evened out. Rae is a part of the Wu so this applies to them. They backed down when the odds evened out because they knew what would happen...

*EDIT*

I assume Rae, Wu representative, was there with Wu Tang affiliates. When I say they backed down I mean literally they backed down and deescalated a situation they started in the first place. Joe even says that was the case immediately after and in the video asking for a fair one.

Relative to this post, Ghost is a legend but stop this violence. AB is not a small dude and this ain't the 90's. Threatening to have someone touched is a nice way to get indicted...

Posted by Kira, Mon Jul-20-15 02:55 PM
That Rae/Wu did back down in that moment. It's on camera where guy says Rae wants to know how they can squash this issue. Rae's an OG but he crossed a line there and had to walk that situation back as a Wu Tang Clan member. That entire situation spirals out of control if Rae doesn't squash it in the moment.

*EDIT*

The full post fight Joe Budden video isn't available but from memory, we talked about it on here when it happened, Rae backed down twice as he wouldn't catch the fade in the moment AND wouldn't go at it bar wise either. This was over years ago...

If it makes you feel any better Rae is still a legend.
191164, Basically. He's gotta be pressed to spin that into "the Wu backed down"

Budden took a loss, and had to eat it. Never heard about Budden, Royce or any other member of Slaughterhouse putting hands on anyone Wu affiliated.
And the fact that Joe didn't want to fight the guy who actually put hands on him says alot.

has been very measured...Some dude takes his style and gets love because he's got the novelty of being white and has a beard that should house raccoons....And Ghost didn't really bark. In fact he gave Action a respectful nod....

So when Action says some slick shit, even on some tongue and cheek eye-winking jab, he's going to get called out by the same dude known for calling niggas out...lol

There are no L's here as some r claiming...No bad look for Ghost, ect, ect....Dude has simply had enough....Now he's speaking on it....

U don't have to co-sign Ghost threatening to lay hands on the fat boy to know that this is what happens when u mix a dude benefiting off of that white privilege on the back of a hip-hop legend who I'm sure is thinking, "This dude stole my style, he's getting mainstream love aaaaaand talking shit about ME?????"

Otherwise it's whatever. This is what happens when you let lames run wild and attempt to set the rules. Action Bronson aint top of the food chain but he barked like he was. Sometimes you gotta get checked so that you know everything is real. He lucky this aint at the height of WU-Mania. Dude wouldn't be safe to walk to streets of NY off GP. Fans would try his jaw just because. Just to get a "good looking" from Ghost.

to make it right publically. Before he did it behind the scenes, now he's letting the world know that this has to be rectified properly. Action is managed by Paul Rosenberg, he's not going to let Action get sniped down by a crazy Wu fanatic, he has too much paper & industry connects to let that happen. They (Action's team) are going to try to figure out how to make things right without making Action look like a huge coward.

Like you said, if that happened at the height of Wu-mania before the Youtube era, this would have been 10x worse for Bronson.

Let my love slide in and never slip out

Posted by denny, Tue Jul-21-15 03:19 AM
Sometimes we have to respond to someone saying 'He doesn't rap like this anymore' with a blatant and legally binding death threat.

You guys sound like children. Or actual gang members. I can't call it.

Another question. If this Action Bronson guy is found in a ditch full of holes tomorrow.....are you going to be pleased? On a 'that's what you get for saying someone can't rap good' thing?
191188, Did you somehow skip the part where I said the threats were a mistake?
Posted by 13Rose, Tue Jul-21-15 08:54 AM
Do I think Bronson should get killed for this? Of course not. If he got smacked would I feel bad? Not at all. Somehow again and again some of yall are missing the point. This is not because he said Ghost isn't rapping well. There are two things that make this a very slappable offense. He is a clone of one chamber of Ghost and he said some slick shit about the original on national TV. If it was some random dude saying Ghost gotta do better, Starks might've got tight but dude has a right to his opinion.

Clones don't get to have an opinion. Bottom line.

And for the record I'm not a gang member. I'm just a guy who lives by my word being my bond so I expect to be held responsible for what I say out my mouth. That's all.

Ghost for being so candid. Ghost won't lose fans or sleep over this, especially since he's stayed true to character here. If anything, this invigorates his core fanbase. The age thing is irrelevant, these guys are entertainers, not politicians.

which could be the case but I'm not listening to AB's music to find out, what does Ghost have to gain from directing a track at AB?

The fact that Ghost has even responded to him on this scale is already detrimental to the type of music Ghost makes and has caused AB's relevance to temporarily spike.

Ghost is the same guy that said he didn't want to get on Jay's last album, despite Jay asking him to, unless he was spitting knowledge from the Qu'ran.

Based on AB's comportment, I doubt that he is on Ghost's level but again that's something that I'm not going to look into further

Rae/50 was more exciting than this.

191242, Ghost's album w/ Adrian Younge just dropped
Posted by teefiveten, Tue Jul-21-15 09:18 AM
this was planned
and im sure that album will be a disappointment too

but if you like it i love it!
191243, Teef do you like Action Bronson?
Posted by 13Rose, Tue Jul-21-15 10:07 AM
You dig him?
191244, i do. his album was not good
Posted by teefiveten, Tue Jul-21-15 10:10 AM
but i don't dislike him

he messed up though and ghost was bound to come at him so i don't feel bad for AB

if i were him i would have not said anything after being called out. no apologies.

i mean really guys Ghost been lazy/not good for a minute

AB is certainly not on his level but Ghost today ain't on Ghost's level either so i don't get the gasp of relief/cries of joy at Ghost addressing him. his album still is going to be subpar :/

folks worried about AB sounding like Ghost when Ghost slacking on these projects!

and yes, it's definitely very convenient this is happening when his new album is dropping. i don't know if it that will translate into sales but im sure that's the plan

last adrian younge joint was a snoozer but i'm not a huge fan of younge either. younge + bilal seem to work well though.
191245, 100% correct

191247, i did. the crowd didn't. lol.
Posted by teefiveten, Tue Jul-21-15 10:41 AM
tried to get a balance but wasn't really working. definitely could have done bad boy/neptunes/timbaland for 2 hours and called it a night but that's not me :(

the djs who invited me loved it so that's good. and i had a good circle of folks dancing the whole time so that's good. but definitely not ideal. i knew i was nervous for a reason!

i'm aiming for Sound Table. i'm convinced that place is my destiny. lol.
191248, I liked the set. It was different. The house music was cool too
Posted by Case_One, Tue Jul-21-15 01:27 PM
The white folks loved you..lol And it was nice to meet you.

191249, I don't think this is for sales
Posted by 13Rose, Tue Jul-21-15 10:39 AM
Unless they are in on it together. Ghost didn't make him say those things on ESPN. Also according to Ghost he spoke to him over the phone to fix it and Bronson did the bullshit by removing his tweets. He gets what his hand calls for.

As far as Ghost new music, I stopped actively listening around More Fish and really didn't like what I heard from the first Adrian project. He also had awful verses on the last Wu album. I agree that he isn't that good anymore, but the principal is what's important to me. I don't need music from either of these dudes anymore. You just don't disrespect your father like that in public and not expect to get five across the eyes.
191250, AB's comments were a few weeks ago now
Posted by teefiveten, Tue Jul-21-15 10:42 AM
i think they waited for a reason
191251, Hmmm that does make sense.
Posted by 13Rose, Tue Jul-21-15 10:46 AM
Fair enough.
191252, Ghost latest album came out on the 10th though
Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Tue Jul-21-15 10:56 AM
So why wait until now, a full 10 days after the album release, when he could've done it prior to the release to build excitement if that's what he's doing?
191253, not selling well? i'm really surprised he did a second w/ Younge
Posted by teefiveten, Tue Jul-21-15 10:58 AM
i guess it was preplanned (the album)

191254, the way it was explained in the email is the record label didnt handle biz
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Jul-21-15 04:16 PM
or pay anyone for the project so young started a label (or someone started a label) to put this out.

I don't think this is done for the record sales. Ghost other album with Badnotgood isn't for sales either.

none of his projects look like they are made with mass record sales in mind.

191255, i'm guessing Ghost is just not on the webz like that
Posted by gumz, Tue Jul-21-15 12:00 PM
i came across the AB video and saw the Ghost response a day or two later
191256, it was the day after the Ghost album came out wasn't it???
Posted by ChampD1012, Tue Jul-21-15 03:52 PM
I don't think Ghost is stressing off record sales...

he's touring Cuban Linx with Ghost...and it looks like that tour is doing just fine...
191257, the instrumentals are dope (available on disc 2) the rapping is meh
Posted by gumz, Tue Jul-21-15 10:18 AM
191258, noooooo, aint no one checking for Ghost new album based off of this
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Jul-21-15 04:08 PM
those albums aren't even geared to sell... they are niche albums, movie soundtrack music...

I could see if Ghost had a major release but nah, this is not how you generate interest in a album like Twelve Ways to Die II
191259, agreed. dude is legit pissed off lol

AB should of dissed him than not apologized.
Ghost should of came at him via the video AND on wax.
AB should of came at him on wax afterwards and let the fans decide who wins

191262, we gon keep doing this til we get it right (c) Bootsy.

The phrase should have indicates a missed obligation or opportunity in the past. In informal speech, it is contracted to should’ve, not "should of."

You should have (should’ve) called me!
NOT: You should of called me!

I should have (should’ve) known you were lying.
NOT: I should of known you were lying.

Tom and Pauline are so selfish, they should have (should’ve) been there for you.
NOT: Tom and Pauline are so selfish, they should of been there for you.

Should have should never be written "should of." However, the latter does exist: when should is followed by an expression that begins with of.

You should, of course, compare prices.
Past: You should, of course, have compared prices.

He should, of his own will, do the right thing.
Past: He should, of his own will, have done the right thing.

Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Tue Jul-21-15 03:59 PM
Dude is not that impressive for Starks to be concerned with.
191268, AB's whole rhymebook is bootleg version of Ghost's verses on Nutmeg
Posted by micMajestic, Tue Jul-21-15 05:24 PM
>Dude is not that impressive for Starks to be concerned with.

Not even taking shots, it's the truth. Bronson sounds good on a beat, but we gotta be real his lyrics aren't all that inspiring. I don't think Bronson has quotable lines at all.

Let my love slide in and never slip out
191269, classic just for the simple fact he had teddy p playing in the background lol

191272, Bronson says/does the worst shit, constantly. Why are ppl crying for him?
Posted by kevlar skully, Tue Jul-21-15 06:28 PM

His entire gimmick is sounding like Ghostface & being a crazy white boy

She's real reckless so people respond accordingly and she needs to stay out of this.
191275, I still dont see the AB+Ghost comparison
Posted by double negative, Tue Jul-21-15 07:42 PM
lyrically they have different styles

it would be different if the POV was the same but Ghost has always repped Staten Island and AB is just a fat Queens nigga that loves food and bitches

i don't deny there there is an influence but its not 1:1
191276, I feel the same way you do
Posted by Jon, Tue Jul-21-15 09:10 PM
AB has a similar voice/accent/etc, but its obvious that's just the way he naturally talks. Lots of northeast cats talk like that. Part of Ghost's appeal is he sounds like a ton of cats in this general region, like that random dude we all knew growing up.

AB also likes to reference food in his art, and talk endlessly about gourmet goodies. So do I. Ghost made that shit famous but its not like the world would ever only produce one rapper who adores good food. Food is a pretty common ass passion among humans.

Outside of food and accent, Bronson's rapping style draws more resemblances to various other cats.

In terms of the way he crafts his flows and structures his lines, he reminds me more of Kool G Rap and some other cats than Ghostface. He's his own artist.

Btw, I'm a much much much bigger Ghostface fan than Action, but I like Action too.
