is the 2 part of the (9+3)? it's written as 2(9+3) so i thought that you should.
so if you view it this way, the answer is 2.
but the problem can also be read that the 2 is actually a term that is seperate from the (9+3).
so following the order of operations, you work from left to right, and you get 288.
48÷2(9+3)
48 ÷ 2 X 12
working from left to right, you get 288 because
48 ÷ 2 = 24; 24 X 12 + 288
