disbelief for a minute as if he couldn't believe we were meeting in person.

Hanging around him is never dull. Never. There are plenty of Goldmind stories (some I can't/won't tell), but my favorite is this one:

We were in Atlanta, and Goldmind sees a bunch of dudes standing around a building.

"Ooooooo," he says, "what're all those guys standing over there for? Maybe it's a bar or something! I'll go over and investigate."

So Goldmind sashays over to the building front, only to return - man-less - a few minutes later. Turns out the building in question was the homeless shelter.
