By all outward appearance you look like you probably don't want to be talked to and a nigga will be like "I like the way you walk" or some shit. I once had a dude walk up on me and try to whisper in my ear late at night... in the dark... randomly... on the sidewalk. I was like "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"

Re: sketchy places... that'd make sense if we could draw a sharp line between safe space and unsafe space. Unfortunately we cannot. I mean, while we might know where the "hood" is and avoid it. While we may not stop to adjust our stockings in alleyways or whatever, it's not cut and dry. I think my block is pretty safe... it's where I rest my head. But a woman got raped on a Sunday morning last week about two blocks away.
