"other peoples expectations" and the biases that we all know exist are wrong.

Even though it is wrong, I wouldn't ignore it if I were a parent. That is just me though, and I am not a parent.

I will also add that my name is very common. Soo common that I could not go by just my first name until adulthood. I was always "my name" plus the first initial of my last because there were always so many other "my names" around. I hated that!
