I'll bring a small telephoto if I'm randomly out and about
If studio work a pancake is fine

Depends on the style you are seeking

For example it helps if you go

I peeped Philip Toledanos work today.
He has an emotional depth to his work that comes across in his shooting.
I'd recommend more philosophy books and possibly gear you towards portraiture photogs
