i think what's tripping people is the ORDER OF OPERATIONS like i think you posted above...
folk are getting it mixed up...
doing the work in the parenthesis is correct.
BUT you multiply and/or divide left to right:
48/2(9+3)=
48/2(12)=
24(12)=
24*12=288
you go from left to right you take care of the MD in PEMDAS. What's left is the correct answer, 288.
You don't need a Goggle calculator or ANY kind of calculator to do this.
