2(9+3) <--A number


That is:

There is a FRACTIONAL RELATIONSHIP between

and the NUMBER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DIVISION
SIGN


And what's beautiful is this:

The parenthesis is specifically present to tip us
off as to how we are supposed to think about the
numbers and their relationship to one another

That is why we have them at all.

PEMDAS is a silly little shortcut that we use to
TEACH relationships between numbers to kids.


If you ACTUALLY GRASP MATH, you don't need it to
get the answer right

I grasp math, and don't need it.
