98980, giving someone 48 hours to do something is warlike

the generic phrase 'we can't allow iran to have nuclear weapons' is a basic bipartisan beltway position that in no way suggests the speaker supports all-out imminent war. obama couples the assertion that he doesn't want iran to have nuclear weapons with demands for direct talks between the u.s. and iran. bush wasn't saying 'saddam, you have 48 hours to sit down and talk to me', he said you have two days to prove a negative (impossible) before the bombs fall, i.e. the bombs will fall no matter what you do (b/c you can't definitively prove you don't have something within a country's borders in two days).
