I think it makes you less qualified, because you were not here to experience it close up. Just like I wouldn't think someone who didn't grow up in chicago could really tell you about the beginnings of house music. They could give you dates and artists and song titles, but they couldn't tell you what it was like. The parties, the popularity of dj's, the hot mix shows on radio stations, the energy that surrounded the whole scene. I'm not even totally qualified to do it, becaue I was here, but I wasn't as deep into it as some of my peers were.

It makes a difference.
