well, i don't know if you've heard my theory about "funk" vs. "FONK"... i didn't want to get into it so as not to rile up Mr. Coolidge, but yes... i do think that P-Funk and most funk bands that followed them WERE a parody of funk.

and i mean that in the BEST way (for P-Funk anywy... the rest of them... i dunno...)

disco was good music... it's just that it was overexposed. i mean, old people were taking disco dancing lessons. Sesame Street was putting out Sesame Street Fever. there were novelty songs like Disco Duck. even Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops put out Saturday Night Fiedler... it was just too much.

btw... i though Giorgio Moroder was a genius!
