American culture went form being Afrocentric(soul, hippies, revolution, fusion)to Eurocentric(perms, european designers, Studio 54, disco, chic drugs) in the mid-70's. It all started when folks realized that the hippie/revolutionary dream needs a leader/in revolution people die/your gov't WILL kill you/no one wants to lead the way for fear of dying
