like i gave it a rest after the first week as i didnt want to burn it out, i have my issues with it (quite a few songs arent really songs, and for a jam like sugah daddy, that is fine, but for charade and 1 or 2 others, they kind of peter out, like he couldnt write more than 2 verses), but even if its not melodically sharp, a lot of phrases keep popping into my brain. so he does catchy vocal phrases, if not songs. but maybe its just cos i havent heard anything NEW like this in a long time, but this album is ticking all my boxes. its also made me return to funk, which i havent really wanted to listen to in quite a long time.
