im not saying keef is a great mc or that this is a classic album, just that its not complete trash. its well done for what it is.

i also (still) find it funny how a lot of people that loved albums like the chronic, doggystyle and so on shit on keef, not for being a shitty mc (ive heard worse) but for his content. im not sure if songs like ratatat for instance are any better or less harmful than keef (and im sure the chronic was much of a favourite with LA gangbangers as much as finally rich is with teen gangmembers from chicago).

the thing that i can see as being different this time is that where before you had people outside rap criticising snoop and dre (as well as older/conscious hip hop heads from inside) from government, c delores tucker and so on, this time the outsider contingent dont seem to care! so its good that rap's internal police are still keeping watch, but maybe rap just isnt that 'scary' to anyone outside it anymore. something for today's rappers to work on...
