i'm MAD interested in this wave of ignant rap taking over the industry. in the midst of a recession, no less.
is it fantasy rap? folks just wanna get their minds off their mortgage payment and pending unemployment?
is it the harbinger of a dark age of society in general? the dumbing down of american played out on the top 40 charts?
i'm not smart enough to break this shit down - i got an engineering degree. we need a sociology PhD in here to dissect this shit.
but it's worth looking into. i'm trying my hardest not to just dismiss dude entirely. i mean, "i don't like" does get stuck in your head. there's something to be said for making a memorable song. there's also something to be said for being able to capture the zeitgeist.
i mean, this nigga is making blatantly homoerotic videos and songs that got like 12 words in them and parlayed that into a record deal.
