Got questions about me or my mixtapes or just music or life in general? I'll try and answer those too.

Nothing really. Still digging, but definitely using more musicians to create a more lush and full-bodied sound.

163293, Are there any plans to do physicals of the first two albums?
Posted by dalecooper, Wed Sep-28-11 03:22 PM
I heard a rumor that his label was somehow going to put out an official CD of "Krit Wuz Here" but I don't know how credible it was. I also tried buying the autographed CDs that were for sale, but they don't seem to be available any more. (Yes, I'm old school)

Other question, do you have any feel for when "Live from the Underground" might be out, or is that just a silly question right now? Word has been "early 2012" whatever that means. I'm in the "sooner the better" camp.

MP3s that are 128kbps or higher are broadcast quality. Releasing R4 320kbps would have made the zip file to large for quick download so we set it at the iTunes default 160kbps to accommodate everyone.

If you play R4 in a car or on a loud concert system you won't hear any real drop off. Unless you are an audiophile, then I'd understand your concern.

You can get get hard copies of both KWH and R4 from bigkrit.com. I believe they are restocking now. KWH is also available on iTunes.

The plan for LFTU is for it to be released in the 1st quarter of 2012. That's all I know at the moment.

Right on man.. good to meet you too. You were killing it before the artist sets. I dug how you played records to set up the vibe prior to the artist performing. Playing all the Scarface, Outkast, Goodie Mob etc was a great alley-oop for us.

Here's a zip full of clean versions of some of KRIT's more popular jams from KWH and R4. http://is.gd/KRITCleans

T.I., Ludacris, 8Ball & MJG and a few other people have reached out recently. I know he just sent some stuff to Curren$y. Also, Raekwon reached out via twitter earlier today so we'll see how that goes.

Anything is possible.

I love that beat. The native Tennessean that I am wished that beat would have gone to someone in Memphis. Imagine Project Pat on that.... or even Yo Gotti... man.

Anyway, Trel did his thing and the song ended up being really dope. Shout out to DC.

KRIT is producing the whole album. Mixing it too. Mixing it with help, but he's directly involved with that process.

He's pretty much got all the features he wanted locked down.

With the features though, we try and keep those quiet to build an element of surprise. I think that's something that's been lost in music. Right now with all the pressure to produce online content to generate buzz everyone tells everyone who is on their album 6 months before it drops. We're trying to recreate that type of feeling when you had when you bought OB4CL put it in the player and found out there was a Nas verse. That "oh shit" reaction. Hip-hop needs that again.

The Plaza Live Theatre

KRIT is a big fan of Kurt Cobain. Probably because Kurt was true to himself and the music he wanted to make. He fought everyone who tried to compromise what Nirvana was doing in the pursuit of a dollar. It was always about the music first. I think KRIT identifies with that mindset. Above all else, make sure it jams.

We were in Memphis a few weeks ago for K97's Summer Jam. Hopefully we'll back soon to play one of the performance venues instead of a big time commercial radio event. Nothing wrong with them, I'd just prefer to be somewhere like the New Daisy Theater instead.

I got love for K97 though. Devin Steel is a long time friend. I've actually mixed on that station 5 or 6 times before.

KRIT wanted (and needed really IMO) more time to work on it. He requested the extra time to make it all the way right and was granted it.

I agree, "I'm Flexin" is jammin like a muthafucka.

I personally don't have any songs with T.I. or Ludacris. However KRIT has one song w/ Luda "Country Shit (Remix)" and a record he produced for him that hasn't been released yet.

"I'm Flexin" is the only record he has with T.I. at the moment, but I have a gut feeling that it won't be the last.

The only instrumental available at the moment is "Country Shit (Remix)".

I've been talking to him about releasing "K.R.I.T. Wuz Here" as an instrumental LP after the major label debut is released.

Maybe that will happen..

They called. We answered.

Tremendous look for KRIT. I'm happy it worked out.

About a year ago when KRIT was in the Bay Area recording the "The Wuz Here Sessions" with Grillade, Berner reached out to KRIT's manager inquiring about beats for his "The White Album" LP. "Yoko" was one of them. KRIT actually produced a second song on "The White Album" that has Killa Kyleon on it.

The version on Berner's album only has KRIT and Wiz on it.

The story Berner told me about how Chris Brown got on it is that... they were working in the same studio in LA and Chris Brown walked by Berner's room and heard the beat, stopped in his room inquired about it, asked Berner to get on it and if he could put it on his upcoming mixtape. Berner obliged and thus, we have the "Yoko (Remix)". He also said that Chris is a big fan of KRIT's and was even more excited to do the record once he found out KRIT produced it.

I'm not sure what those are. I'm guessing ISP means Invisibl Skratch Piklz? Not sure what ICB is.

"4eva N a Day" should arrive early into 2012.

As it stands now "Money On The Floor" is still on the album. I can't really think of any situation where it would be left off either.

No word on any upcoming tour dates at the moment. I'm sure that will change in the coming months though,

Just want to say this was a good read, Wally you were super on point with all your answers... Really enjoy when artists reach out directly to their fans...
