106013, Okay, I'm back.

Spent about 2 weeks with the album, and I feel comfortable enough with it to come back with my thoughts.

I don't feel either way about the intro, quite honestly. I definitely feel the frustration, but as an album bookend...*shrug*. As far as intros go, I dig the ambience of the Game Theory opening and would have preferred an intro like that.

"Rising Down" is a strong starter with a very dope Mos Def verse and some hard drums. 'Riq's verse is serviceable, but a little obvious until about halfway through. Once it picks up, fire. I am no Styles P fan but can always reckognize a good 16 - this is not one. It just seems all over the place and ill-informed.

"Get Busy" GOES SO HARD, especially in full quality. Each verse gets better and more fired up. Needs to be heard with the right amount of bass - definitely for the whip whip/studio monitors. Peedi's verse is my favorite on the whole album.

"@ 15" is a nice intro to...

"75 Bars", which I'm still kinda "eh" on compared to "Web" or "Thought @ Work" or even "Boom". Not bad, just doesn't move me.

"Becoming Unwritten" is what it is, meant to make the album feel more like an album and less like a collection of songs and also ties into "Unwritten". It also gives you a break after the workout that is "75 Bars" and prepares you for the best three song sequence I've heard in a minute...

"Criminal" is currently my favorite song on the record. All three emcees spit with conviction and really get into the pocket of the beat. Great hook, too.

"I Will Not Apologize", in all it's Fela-inspired glory, is one of the best cuts on the album. I was blown away when I first heard Porn spit - I'm a sucker for a good voice. Everyone on here does their thing, tho.

"I Can't Help It" is definitely the headphone song on the record, sonically it's pretty brilliant - especially at the very end. Porn delivers his best verse on the album with some of the albums best one-liners, too. Rounds out a ridiculously strong three song streak.

This is where the album started to lose it's way with me..."Singing Man"...I LOVE the verses...but the hook is cringe-worthy and I don't think I like the beat very much, either. A shame, too...the verses are REALLY good. Truck North!!!

"Unwritten" is simply beautiful and a little haunting, too. Slowly becoming one of my favorites after initially dismissing it.

"Lost Desire" is in the same catagory as "75 Bars"...I don't hate it (despite the hook) - it just doesn't move me and kinda falls into the background. LOVE the Dilla tribute at the end.

"The Show" has a cool ass intro, a great beat, two great BT verses...but a terrible elementary hook and a phoned-in Common verse. Seriously, who OK'd this hook?

"Rising Up" is dope. Heard it a hundred times before the album dropped and I'm kinda tired of it at this point. I like everything about it except Chrisette's "Coca Cola Christmas" vpcals.

Overall, dope album despite a few flaws. No rating, tho. Sorry!
