105775, i feel and respect where you coming from. Posted by qoolquest, Fri Apr-25-08 12:53 AM
but this is what you gotta see:
we have to be EVERYBAND
home base: hardcore hip hop
ave one: jazzy roots
ave two: underground bagack roots
ave three: adult contemporary roots (neo headwrap roots)
ave four: experimental roots
ave five: pop roots
ave five: jb review roots
ave six: straight ahead don't wanna confuse idiots roots
ave seven: roots that giles peterson's crowd would die for....
ave eight: jam band roots
ave nine: hard rock roots
i mean i can go on and on....
but since we are the last of a dying breed.....we borderline have to rep ALL these things.
and this is the album we decided to come HOME.
hardcore hip hop.
somewhat experiemtnal.
somewhat funky
a lil eclectic
but basically BANGERS!!!!!
i do welcome the challenge of doing an album in that manner (i am curious to see which tour you felt we aint kick ass in---what show?) but that kinda record is a lil risky in an environment in which i really dont know what my future is past tuesday.
this wasn't the "play it safe" album....this was what i call the "queen latifah last scene in "Set it Off" record.
"fellas there is a good chance we might be homeless on album 11.....let's go balls to the wall with this one"--i hate to sound that depressing but that is why "75 Bars" sound like we are playing so hard you can hear my tears run down my cheek from all the fear of not knowing the future.....i mean i "trust" we'll be ok....but i aint sleeping with both eyes closed.
eff all that....
