This "situation" you speak of has been a reality for, what, 20+ years in Oakland? And the gangsta rap of yore that ran the streets until recently was at LEAST as harmful than this current hyphy business, if not gratuitously more so.

So if ur one of the types that just isn't down for music that perpetuates a violent culture or whatever (i.e. most rap, and specifically gangsta rap), then I can at least understand your viewpoint even tho I don't agree with it. But to isolate hyphy as the chief offender is just ludicrous. I can also understand people just not feeling the sound, which is cool too, but to say that hyphy is some new danger or threat to communities is just stupid. I mean, really. It really makes you sound ignorant.
