I actually liked many albums better than Kendrick's. Kendrick's was cool but I never go back to it because I can only take so much of him. Also, I think yet again, the hip-hop fan over-reacted to the concept over the actual music. I like Life Is Good, Trophies, Mourning in America and Dreaming In Color, Ka, Killer Mike, El-P, Skelethon and a few others more than Kendrick. He'd probably just make my Top 10 of last year. I also agree that he is the best new jack out of all of those people he named in the song.

>People are just flipping out now because of the name dropping
>we BOTH know this. Kendrick on this track pretty much was like
>"I'm trying to be the best" or "I'm the best" on some hip hop
>shit, which as sad as it sounds (and this is sad to me,

This is what I said above (which Bomb and others have yet to refute because they can't) and that is that the verse's appeal comes largely from the length, the name dropping, and the KoNY line. But I can't rock with that at all because claiming the verse is great because of those three things is ridiculous. Shock value hold NO weight with me and usually cheapens the quality of music for me.

To use Nas again as an example, verses of his like the 2nd verse on Where's The Love are just head and shoulders above a verse like Kendrick's. The delivery, the rhyme pattern, the phrasing, the lyrics, the imagery, the subtle details. it's not even remotely close in my opinion.

And that's why I hate shit like this because the verse is cool until these insane people come on here and start with the "greatest verse of all-time" and "August 13, 2013 - a turning point in hip-hop history".

Really? Do you know how fucking stupid they sound with that shit.

Nah man...I'm not listening to that bullshit for a minute.
