it's just...not their best.

DP set a very high bar for their own work. LOL. this is no 'Around the World' or 'Music Sounds Better With You' (i count that) or 'Harder Better Faster Stronger', IMO. but, again, i haven't heard 'Get Lucky' in a club setting.

i wasn't into 'One More Time' until i heard the extended version in a club. b/c that breakdown dominates. turns the thing into something other than a Dance song. i read DP say the meat of the song is purposefully that slow part. the fast part is the 'break'. i get it - they're playing w/my expectations. i get the art part of it. it's clever. but not satisfying when i wanna hear a Dance song or a House track. which is why the extended club version was preferable for me.

this 'Get Lucky'...it seems like it'd be boring to dance to. i dunno. i'm not so into it. plus i don't like Pharrell, generally.
