Or you could do like I do and prioritize. Know what you want to do with each character and plan accordingly. You want Fran as a mage? Work on her spells. Then when you know a towns coming soon, save LP for upcoming stuff and do magical armor. ALWAYS stay in your lane because it keeps you safe LP and gil wise. Now you'll still be short so you're going to need to know what you need and in what order. You got a weapon last town? Focus on armor this time around and make sure its only armor with a big increase, otherwise screw it and save the gil. Also, keep your focus on your three main characters. Most people advise against this, but if you're not going to level, don't bother with the others. If you have no chart showing the LP board use your spare characters to explore the board and find where things are before you waste your main characters precious LP. Above all make sure you keep up to date on necessities: potions, phoenix downs etc. Items get priority over everything else. Pick a set number you want and always keep it at that point. I usually have 5 of every status remover, 20 hi potions, 10-15 phoenix downs ALWAYS on hand. If you have a white mage, all the better. Then you'll need to tap into your reserve much less.
