i loved the armored core series for the customizable mechs (i must have spent an hour just on the colors and logo of my mech), and this looks like the next level of that with the online mode.

July 17, 2006 - According to an official post over at SEGA's Chromehounds forum, mech lovers will be in for a treat this Wednesday.
SEGA and FromSoftware have decided to offer the first pack of downloadable content for free. The post references the server slowdown the X360 mech shooter encountered just after the launch of the title. This pack as a manner of an apology gift to loyal fans.
The pack includes:
"Light Arms -- a sniper cannon for fast, furious engagements. Features a smaller magazine to reduce weight."
"Heavy Arms -- An improved HC1500/D, for those in the know. A giant cannon with massive destructive power."
"Assist Part -- Additional armor with an enhanced KE defensive profile. It's shaped to better turn bullets."
"Color Pattern -- A brand new World War II inspired camouflage pattern."
The pack will be available to download via the Xbox Live Marketplace at midnight Greenwich meantime (Tuesday, 5:00 P.M. Pacific) on Wednesday, July 19.

it's pretty fun tho. the customization is a little reminiscent of the armored core series (prolly cuz it's made by the same cats) but a little more streamlined and flexible. it's pretty cool being able to stack guns on top of each other. i made a hound that was basically a set of wheels with like 9 guns on top, lol
single player is pretty wack but i guess you have to complete it to get some decent parts for online play

I joined one squad and quit after learning it was a bunch of teenagers. I havent joined another.

I've been trying to get online but I can't access a game. Also this shit has froze up on me a few times.
Hopefully when I get online and strategized with some other cats, it'll pick up.
