306386, Wanting to boost the sound volume and quality of a USB mic

I do a number of Zoom calls and so about a year ago I bought a USB mic (it's a FiFine USB condenser mic - https://www.amazon.com/Microphone-Condenser-Recording-Streaming-669B/dp/B06XCKGLTP?ref_=ast_sto_dp).

I'm noticing that the volume of the audio from the mic isn't quite where I'd like it. During the calls, the mic sits on a desk surface about 18 inches away from my head.

The audio from this recording is an example of my current setup - https://youtu.be/0YDU_z_OA1s

I'm not looking for something that a Shure mic would produce, but I'm wondering if there's some device, hopefully under $60 that I could buy that would improve the 'smoothness' of the sound. The fidelity sounds a little 'tinny' to me, although I'm no audiophile.

Does anyone have any advice on equipment to buy? Or is the main issue is the relatively large distance of the mic from my mouth?
306387, i think this is more of a distance issue

a different mic would get you more low frequency sounds
but i would open Audacity and test to see what the sweet spot is distance-wise for your microphone
306388, Hey, good to see you're on here

Haven't seen you in a while. Hope things are okay.

I'll pull up Audition and play with the mic.

Thanks for the tip.
