Granted, I've also been binging the whole series since 0 dropped in 2017 (and mostly for free since SEGA has been weirdly generous on both PS+ and Gamepass) so it wasn't until recently English was an option anyway...but when I can't understand the language, it feels less awkward to just read the subtitle and thumb through the dialogue. Some scenes that'd clearly be 10 or 15 minutes can be over in 4 or 5.
Though to their credit, since Judgement they've added a lot more animation to the cutscenes you can thumb through, so sometimes I'll just let it run its course while glancing over at an article in The Athletic or whatever too.
