It's not quite as complex and impressive as the way Red Dead 2 shuffles missed side content into the epilogue but it's pretty similar. I for one was actually kind of glad that after about 30 hours I just wanted to be done with the story and then discovered I hadn't been quite as thorough with side areas as I'd thought, especially in Vanaheim (I blame all the exploding puss pods). It was fun to do all that stuff with the context of the game's conclusion sprinkled in when it made sense.
