this is true but i became accustomed to this concept in xrd, the previous entry. you just learn to not trust anything

my specific issue is strictly execution-based. the most common scenario, usually a few times per match is:

me, playing ky: ok this maniac is going to press a button. time for a dragon punch!
maniac: *presses button(s)*
me: *DP input*
ky: *far slash*
ky: *takes 50% damage counterhit combo*

i truly do not know what the issue is. i can hit confirm ride the lightnings and DPs in training mode. i can do 50 DPs in training mode in a row without missing. i get in a match and something goes wrong with my inputs. maybe i'm going too fast. i do know that i'm still getting the hang of wakeup timings due to the different knockdowns in strive (face down and face up) but i'll not get DPs in neutral or in fake blockstrings too. it's profoundly frustrating. i am playing on a 4 year old dualshock 4. maybe it's time for a new pad
