just picked it up during the Steam sale and the difficulty is way ramped up from Doom (2016)

I started on Ultra Violence (which I remember being a solid challenge on the last game) and the first three levels have been *punishing*

they added a lot of combat elements -- air-dashing, dash-strafing, bullet-time on jump descent, flame thrower, ice bomb -- which are cool, but to the point of sensory overload

seems like Eternal is like all the Hell levels of the last game, which were death arena after death arena

I miss the more atmospheric parts and linear story so far
