304870, How do you get rid of old stuff?
Posted by handle, Thu Oct-31-19 11:54 PM
I got a bunch of old stuff lying around, no bites on Craiglst, and eBay+Paypal+post office would be too big of a hassle?

Swapmeet? Bring it in a box to someone's garage sale and try to sell it on the sly?

Example:
700W PowerSupply (Coolmax brand , it's 2nd tier.)
iPhone 5 (unlocked, but old as hell)
5.25 External case (for DVD burners)
Apple Thunderbolt to Gigibit Ethernet
Netgear Wireless Router (b/g/n)
Moto E4 handset (unlocked - but worth like $10 on eBay)
(I got like 30 more things along these lines)

Do I just charity it? Leave it in a box on the corner? Sell it as a package on Craigslist (like for $10 for all of it?)

>700W PowerSupply (Coolmax brand , it's 2nd tier.)
if it's used nobody will probably want it

>iPhone 5 (unlocked, but old as hell)
maybe ebay or toss it in the cell bin at Kroger

>5.25 External case (for DVD burners)
not really worth flipping

>Apple Thunderbolt to Gigibit Ethernet
Thunderbolt done

>Netgear Wireless Router (b/g/n)
?

>Moto E4 handset (unlocked - but worth like $10 on eBay)
chuck it

Got $20.

Got $40

Got $25.

So not as worthless, but what doesn't sale I'll do this:

1)bring it into work in a box and see if anyone wants it free
2)Bring to charity shops

And if its broke I do take to electronics recycling (for the next reply.)

But it's labor intensive.
304880, nice. glad it worked out

Maybe your city has something similar. I know Best Buy sometimes takes old cellphones and electronics. I don't know if you'd have to pay for that service.
304881, I just dropped off a bunch of shit at bestbuy to be recycled

2 dead laptops and 1 desktop. They recycle 3 items at a time for free. Then i dropped off a box of cables too. Shit was just sitting in my office taking up space. I didnt have the energy to try and get a few bucks for it all online.
