Yeah I'm late as shit, but really I just wanted to add one more topic to this sad ass forum, haha. What happened to this place? I know the answer of course, we all grew up.

right now i'm working in saudi arabia and there is not shit to do when i'm not working. for the last 2 years i've alternated from taking vacations and doing my travel photography, and just working like crazy. when i'm in the kingdom i just work massive overtime and use the funds for my travels and stuff. really its the only reason westerners come to work here, save money and travel.

however, i'm cutting back on the OT so there's a bunch of downtime. i figured there was a bunch of games that i wanted to play still like Uncharted 4, new GoW, Horizon, etc so i just went out and picked it up.

almost finished with Uncharted. lots of fun which i expected having played the previous games. probably play GoW next.

thanks for the compliment. tonight i just bought a sony a73 and few lenses. i'm excited. was rocking the a6500 before. going full frame wasn't the main reason, actually it was better moisture resistance. i just did this caving expedition in vietnam and on day 3 my gear was fogging up ON THE INSIDE. i'm hoping that the new gear can stand up better to those conditions.

anyway, i don't know if you like camera gear and stuff, but i'm excited for my new shit to arrive!

My grandma rented me a PS1 from Blockbuster back in the day, and the load times were so awful and the game was so scratched, it was a horrible experience. I can count the number of times I've played a PS console since then (twice).

I HAVE to have this new Spider-Man shit though. I was mildly hurt by the Street Fighter exclusivity, but I can't not play a Spider-Man game.

Oh I completely understand. I also held off on both the ps3 and PS4 in part due to the controller. I absolutely hate it, especially next to the Xbox controller.

I used to be heavy on fps games on both 360/PS4 and trust the OG dual shock aint age well (although it was still great for fighting games), Even back then it used to take me a bit of game time to get used to the PS3’s “floaty” sticks.

The current dualshock is imho on par with rhe 360/Xbone controller tho

xbo controller gets major knocks for them bumpers.

you can't balance the triggers and bumpers on the DS4, it just doesn't work.

and the battery life is still trash

i like the DS4 for action games like soulsborne, bayonetta, etc.

i refuse to play driving and first-person games with anything but the xone controller

the dual shock has my wrists sitting at a weird angle, the xbox 360 and one controllers feel right.

My hands feel...wrong holding an analog stick where a d-pad should be, and I've always been surprised people reacted so positively to Microsoft's moving of the d-pad from the position it'd been in since time immemorial. I still always use the d-pad in menus and 2D games too so it's not some second rate piece of the controller for me.


I play games on XBox that I'm very familiar with, like NBA 2K, significantly worse on friends' XBox consoles.

I think my TV only does 720p, but I can't really justify buying anything else because that's the only minor issue with it. Does it load games drastically faster than the regular one?

compared to the OG console, and I think some games also display more detailed textures which is separate from how many pixels are on screen so those games would look better on your TV anyway.

I'm in the same boat, capped at 720p but finding more and more reasons to be interested in a Pro regardless just because so many games are being optimized for that SKU now, not just Playstation generally. I just can't really justify buying a console I technically do own already, though that new limited edition pro with the 2TB drive is so damn tantalizing.

what's the price difference right now? i mean if you plan you upgrade to a better tv in the future you may as well get the pro assuming you'll keep the console for a few years.

I honestly don't have any real plans on upgrading my TV, outside of something major (theft or damage).
